What We Do
Impact communication programs.
Our programs are built around data-driven techniques to reach people inside their online bubbles, and storytelling and behavioural science to slowly guide attitudinal change from within.
Impact is not measured in likes or reach, but in what actually matters: measurable shifts in trust, attitudes and understanding.
Programs typically start with a 4-month pilot, followed by a modular roll-out. Scalable across regions and partners.
Topics we work on: Media trust, extremism, equality and inclusion, vaccine scepticism.
Non-confrontational approach: addressing hard-to-reach audiences.
Respecting audiences’ current views and realities.
Nudging audiences to slowly form their opinion themselves: more effective than conventional awareness campaigns or fact-checks that risk cognitive resistance.
The integration of research grounds everything we do in evidence and keeps us transparent about what works.
Use Case: Trust in Media
OpenEcho’s current flagship program in partnership with the Austrian Journalists Club (ÖJC).
The methodology guides people to form more positive attitudes towards the values that uphold our democracy. It helps people better understand, why the media plays an important role to keep our society fair. Higher trust in media makes audiences more resilient against manipulation and fake news.
Audience: 16–29, social-first, low media literacy <50%, regional Austria ex. large cities.
Impact objective: 3-5% Trust Uplift.
Impact measurement: Trust-scale from Reuters, integrated control-test setup.
